A technique called “in vitro fertilization” (IVF) now makes it possible to gather eggs from the mother, fertilize them with sperm from the father, and place the embryo into the uterus of a gestational surrogate.
The process is done as follows:
- Surrogate selection
- Psychological counselling – All involved parties must participate in psychological counselling. This is an extremely important requirement as it gives everyone an opportunity to
discuss a number of vital and sensitive issues - Legal matters – All necessary contracts must be drawn up by an attorney
- Once all the above has been finalised and both parties have agreed to the terms the process of the IVF surrogacy can begin
